Sometimes your system may return an error code indicating that the Wyse Device Manager workgroup is loaded. There can be several reasons for this problem.
5.7.3 is currently under Enterprise Only Software Maintenance (paid version) and is shipped through Dell Digital Locker. In addition, WDM is EOL and is unlikely to receive further updates. It might be in your best interest to implement a replacement, Wyse Management Suite. It is available as a paid and free option and supports Server 2016.
There are actually two versions of WDM: Enterprise and Workgroup. Enterprise is licensed per seat, and Workgroup is free for 750 devices. This is a system quick start guide for Wyse Device Manager 5.0 (WDM) Workgroup Edition. Working group parameter – uhThis is the non-WDM version used to manage Wyse thin clients. The Enterprise type is billed for a release that offers additional deployment options and features. The Workgroup edition installs all components in one secure installation.
In our configuration, we are using a certain Windows Server R2 2008.

The software is available at https://downloads.dell.com/wyse/WDM/. Click the Downloads section, select Wyse Device Manager as the result of your product downloads and click Search. Since Wyse is taken over by Dell, these links are subject to change at any time.
As with this article, the main WDMv5.0_INT.exe file is executable, but additional fixes may be required to address security issues or protect additional devices. Are we currently focusing on a basic WDM Workgroup Edition installation?
Usually download the software and click to launch it. You must agree to the contact information and license agreement before using the software.
In section From Downloads, Active Product, select Wyse Device Manager and click Search.
Download WDMv5.0_INT.exe. It is also recommended to download patches ideally.
Installation
Run WDMv5.0_INT.exe, which will unpack the data files and run setup.exe to start the specific installation.
.NET Framework 3.5 is required and this software will begin installation.
NOTE. On Windows Server 2012, you may need to manually tilt the .NET Framework 3.5.
From the workgroup selection, all components can be installed on the current server. Only the Enterprise license type allows distributed implementation. Click Next.
In this configuration, we INSTALL A NEW DATABASE SERVER, which will in particular install SQL Express 2008 R2 and also use SQL Server Authentication. Enter the password for the database. Note that the default username is rapport and not the sa username.
Enable CONFIGURE A NEW REPOSITORY SERVER, HTTPS for Protocols, Windows Authentication, and Create a New User with Username Rapport. Don’t be confused, kto used an account with a previous account.
The default setting for the Services dialog is probably DHCP proxy, but in this case it also includes the ThreadX service so you can support Teradici thin clients such as the P25. If you do not have such thin clients, the option can be disabled.
It is also recommended that you install the latest fixes (not shown shortly thereafter), the server has restarted.
Activation
You may still need to activate the software. Launch the WDM console and click Continue Assessment.
Complete this online form to receive an activation code that can be used above to activate the software.
Potential Problem
Typically, you may receive the following warning when starting a WDM device: “HServer is not running.”
Check the HServer status in Windows Services and make sure the service is running.
