Hi what is this, stuck in multiplayer games with “Unauthorized CD Key Error” after creating servers multiple times. Reinstalling does not help, also disable the antivirus. Of course I use the steam version.

Yes, this is another key branch of the CD in general. I reinstalled the game (Steam copy) and when I try to connect to multiplayer, I get a message that my disk is not registered.

I am not aI reinstalled the game every time, but this has never happened to me. I looked in my Documents folder but couldn’t find the entire nwn2cdkey.ini file. I’ll reinstall the game and see if it fixes it, but if not, is there anything I can do?

I think Steam comes with a shared CD DVD key and only distributes some of them because people want to play a multiplayer game.

Installing Smoke puts the CD key file in a strange place, there are answers here on the forums that I preface a bit but you need to check them – hopefully someone who remembers the exact topic can post a link.

The thing is, I believe that this file was present in the surviving installations. I also found this thread and will try to manually post the nwn2cdkey.ini file if all else fails, but I doubt it will solve the problem.

Sorry, I mokah, didn’t hear about your post. If creating the file as well as manually adding the keys doesn’t work, I don’t know what else you can do. I didn’t find another solution if I have a problem.

I am not a brilliant programmer, my computer experience is related to assembling devices and loading the recommended operating system and additional applications

mine shows the correct CD keys for a custom copy of NWN2 Platinum for my HP computer, but I still get the same error message as Arkaleth.

So, who are we registering these CDKeys with, so experts are saying that when we connect to NWN-2 for multiplayer, we don’t get the described error message?

I know a player who has a lot more Windows (I have Vista) and had issues with the fix posted above (couldn’t change our file type from .txt to .ini). I’ll copy his fix in case I can find others in the exact same situation:
