You should review these troubleshooting tips if you’re getting an xdcam error while reading metadata from a file error.
What metadata does the XDCAM series support?
presents a set of metadata processed by the XDCAM series. The metadata specified in the File, professional disc format specification includes NRT, RT, DiscMeta, EditList, and Proxy-AV data.
I recently upgraded to a PIX-E5 for my Sony F3, after which I still use SxS cards as a backup (plan to do so in the future). The only dilemma is that I can’tIt’s easy to access one of XDCam’s most valuable features: clip metadata. None of the Sony programs allowed me to view critical clip metadata. By this I mean things like: AE mode, gamma, gain, shutter, ND filter, recording mode, preset, white balance marks, fstop, OK Shot Marks, etc. I think the XDCam metadata allows even you to write comments and other data related to clips La (in camera).
Now I also lose the ability to add subclips! Again, none of the programs I’ve tried clearly state that they can do this.
I think I’ve used most of the programs designed for sony XDCam:
XDCam EX Clip Browser V 2.(6 only compatible with F3, my old one has upgraded to 4444 RGB)
Content Browser V.2.4 (no access to metadata, here you and I expect to pay $20 for full version ? (very )
catalyst is a nice and elegant browser, but… where is the metadata? I never need color correction functions, I need XDCam metadata!! There is no support for creating subclips, maybe not even.)
Switching to the use of k Panasonic and relatively new to XDCam, I will say that I have never had any problems with P2 metadata! Your content browsers work with old and new P2 cameras! And people can also download and use it for free! Sony software doesn’t even work properly and is trying to charge me this? Well, you will tell me that I’m not happy with such excellent performance, trust me, I’m not giving up so easily… but Sony is really testing my patience by also ignoring my requests for help. I’ve been waiting almost a week to hear from you about this, still no response!! Automatic default message “We will answer your question soon”!
Ok, this forum post might help you.
not
I can use the XDCAM export feature in FCP.
Panning is going well, but when I try to mount an XDCAM disc with XDCAM, when I plan to pass it to play on the XDCAM deck as well, I get this error: xdcam error while reading meta Data from file (input loading is good)
There seems to be no problem with the metadata file??
But I also tried to use Episode Pro to convert the file or just copy it to the XDCAM deck. I get all error messages immediately.
How do I read metadata from an image file?
Some view files contain metadata that I’m sure you can read about the characteristics of the file. For example, a digital photograph may contain metadata that can identify the make and model of the SLR camera used to take the photograph. Windows GDI+ allows you to read existing metadata and also allows you to write new metadata to support your image files.
I’m using FCP 7.0.3, XDCAM Send 2.12.0, PDW-U1 firmware 2.450
The deck file I am trying to export is XDCAM IMX50 and Quicktime Wrapped.

Suggestions?
Is there a completely new way to fix the metadata file and could it be the xml file on the xdcam drive?
How do I fix metadata not found errors?
The solution is to scroll through the list of “metadata not found” errors and look for references to a specific project. 9 out of 10 times you will see a broken link to a project that might not be in the solution. Add career backgrounds to correct mistakes and start over. This should fix the issue.
thank you
