Sopcast Suddenly Stopped The Player!
Run Ubuntu 11.10 and managed to get and install Sopcast Player and / or no problem (never had it in previous distributions). However, when I click on the launcher icon, nothing happens at the moment. Human ideas?

Try running it from terminal, you will probably get an idea of the problem in the output.

Thank you. Since I am oddly suffering from the fact that nothing has changed, I get …

Could it be the reason for the update? Do you know how to fix this problem?
Maybe.
I don’t know which versions you almost always use, but as of 11.10 I put Sopcast around 0.7.4 using the ppa used ..

Ok, it probably did a complete reinstall, but the problem persists. I think it might be a specific issue with VLC, given the above errors. Ideas?

I have the same headache, here is my solution:
1) I saw a great error (ImportError: no module named vlc_1_0_x)
2) problems / usr / share / sopcast-player / lib /
3) run “ls -la | grep vlc”
4) Output: vlc_1_1_x.py vlc_1_1_x.pyc
5) no vlc_1_0_x!
6) Create a hard link “sudo ln -south vlc_1_1_x.py vlc_1_0_x.py”
7) try to move the sopcast – now everything is fine.PS: I am using ie8 11.10 amd64, vlc 1.1.5-1, sopcast-player 0.7.4-4.1 ~ lffl ~ oneiric ~ ppa

Re: Sopcast Player Suddenly Stopped Working!
I have the same error although I started from the terminal. This may be due to a dependency on an older version of the vlc player. Does anyone know how to set it up with the latest vlc 1.1.x? Has anyone found a cure in the meantime?
Best wishes
Sopcast Player Has Suddenly Stopped!
Launched Ubuntu 11.10 and I was able to install and install Sopcast Player without any problems (it was never in older distributions). However, when I start, the icon does not appear. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try running it from a new terminal, you will probably get a warning sign of a problem in the output.
