How Do I Restore Windows Server 2008 From Safe Mode Only?

You may receive an error message stating that Windows Server 2008 will only start in Safe Mode. There are several ways to solve this problem, and this is exactly what we will now look at.

This article describes the remedial steps problems where devices cannot boot normally when restarting from safe mode.

Symptoms

The device cannot boot into consumer mode and continues to reboot in safe mode.

Reason

This issue occurs when the SAFEBOOT option is enabled in System Setup under the Boot tab.

Resolution

Step 1. Close all programs so that they really do not open anything and remain on the desktop.

Step 10. In the Run box, enter msconfig as shown in the image below.

Step 4: Click OK, the configuration utility will start.After that, you will see a large screen similar to the image below.

Step 5. Click on the BOOT.INI tab highlighted in red in the above image and you will even see a screen similar to the one shown below.

Step 6. Uncheck the / SAFEBOOT box indicated by the red square above. Then click OK and then OK again. Windows can nowIt doesn’t ask you if you want to restart your computer. Click Yes and the device can now start normally.

Again, this document is primarily targeted at Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP, this information applies to Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server R2 2008.

On some operating systems with Vista or higher, the command line tool for the Boot Data Configuration Editor (Bcdedit.exe) is useful:

The following command clears our own / SAFEBOOT option and helps the computer boot in a sane mode:

Open the administrative command prompt that you previously started with the bcdedit command. For details on commands and command line capabilities, see Bcdedit type.exe /? I ordered it.

Additional Information

If / SAFEBOOT has been tested, you will notice an additional entry in the Boot.ini file, as shown below. If you see the check.for / SAFEBOOT checkbox, uncheck that checkbox.

If you can downloadTo go straight to Safe Mode, try removing any unnecessary devices such as USB drives. See if you can boot normally.

If it doesn’t, go to MSCONFIG, uncheck all startup items and third-party vendors (by clicking Hide MS Services and simply unchecking the rest of the items in the Services tab), restart your computer to check if you can be sneakers.
